Show Synopsis
Bumbalina is a one of a kind Ballerina Bumble-Bee who loves to dance, sing, and play while teaching about our beautiful natural world! (Psst, Bumbalina’s show also teaches social-emotional skills and encourages a range of dynamic movement for children).
Bumbalina invites children (and their caregivers and teachers) into a journey of the imagination through a musical story. This story begins with moving in rhythmic synchrony, then looking for Bees in the trees and learning how to waggle in the Bee Dance, to joining Bumbalina’s Bee Family and ‘being the best Bee we can be’ so that everyone working together can thrive in the hive!
Along the way, after shaping our own Space Bubble, we go on an Animal Journey to discover how to move as different creatures (practicing our dynamic movement motor coordination skills and being self-expressive!). Then we meet Toni the rather shy Turtle (puppet) whom we coax out to play and create a Safe Place through more song and dance.
From Toni we learn how to move like a turtle and that it’s ok to feel shy but that we can peak out of our shells and welcome all other feelings to move through our bodies too. Finally, as Bumbalina prepares to fly back to the Hive, we notice some sweet honey dripping down from the melting honeycomb in the sky and sing one last Sweet Honey Love song together, dancing with our golden honey ribbons creating a big honey pot of goodness.
